The Stand: American Nightmares #3
The third chapter of Marvel's adaptation of Stephen King's The Stand arrives with a cover by Lee Bermejo that pulses with dread — a lone figure stands exposed in the eerie glow of a tunnel, two cars looming behind him and bodies slumped in the shadows at the foreground's edges. It's a striking image of isolation in a world gone terribly wrong, perfectly suited to the "American Nightmares" arc. Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Mike Perkins, with colors by Laura Martin, continue bringing King's sprawling post-apocalyptic vision to the page in this 2009 limited series.
