A hellish landscape of skulls, scorched earth, and tiny damned souls sets the stage as the white-clad Spectre — green hood and gloves blazing against the chaos — flies urgently toward a dark-haired woman suspended upside-down from a gnarled, burning tree. Mark Badger's cover work drenches every inch in sulfurous oranges and sickly yellows, giving the whole image an unsettling, otherworldly dread that feels distinctly 1988 DC horror at its most atmospheric. With Moench, Giarrano, and Badger on the creative team, this December issue promises exactly the kind of brooding, supernatural intensity the series does so well.
