The Spectre #20

Issue #20 of DC's The Spectre (November 1988) finds the hooded, green-clad spirit of vengeance in the middle of a tense confrontation — visible through a half-open office door bearing a "Private Investigations" sign, he has a red-haired man firmly in his grip beneath the glow of a single hanging lamp. The noir-drenched composition by cover penciler Chris Wozniak and inker Mark Badger frames the scene with real atmosphere, turning a detective-office doorway into a window onto something dangerous and urgent. With Doug Moench writing and the story titled "Front Page Star," this 1988 entry in the series has plenty of intrigue on offer.
