The Spectacular Spider-Man Annual #5
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis double-sized 1985 annual from Marvel's Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man opens with a striking street-level tableau: Spider-Man — clad in his black costume — lies face-down and motionless on the pavement, while a confident young figure in a purple jacket stands over him amid a group of tough-looking street toughs and a motorcycle, all set against a brick wall tagged with the graffiti word "Ace." The cover pencils by Mark Beachum and inks by Joe Rubinstein give the scene a gritty, urban energy that feels right at home in mid-'80s Marvel. With Peter David scripting and the extra page count of an annual, this one clearly has some serious street-level drama in store.
