The Spectacular Spider-Man #160

Part of Marvel's 1990 "Acts of Vengeance" crossover, this issue finds a cosmically powered Spider-Man standing triumphant atop a pile of defeated villains — Shocker, Rhino, and Hydro Man — while a massive armored robot looms behind him and Doctor Doom watches from the sideline. The cover dialogue says it all: Spidey has already beaten three heavy hitters and is daring the next challenger to step up. Sal Buscema's bold, dynamic linework — both pencils and inks — gives the whole scene an electrifying sense of escalating stakes.
