“Werewoman”

This May 1994 issue of The Savage Sword of Conan promises a wild encounter, as the cover copy announces "Conan Dances with Werewolves and Werewomen" alongside the story "Werewoman." George Pratt's painted cover captures the Barbarian in a tense, atmospheric moment — sword drawn and glinting, Conan strains against some dark, swirling force that seems to claw and curl around him from below, the deep crimson shadows giving the whole scene an unsettling supernatural menace. Billed as "The Hell Handed Warrior," this is Conan at his most grim and determined, and Roy Thomas's script with art by Mike Docherty makes it a fittingly moody chapter in one of Marvel's longest-running sword-and-sorcery series.
