“Raving Beauty”

Issue #96 of Marvel's long-running series finds Frank Castle in full war-footing — Dale Eaglesham and Scott Koblish's cover depicts the skull-chested vigilante looming large, pistol raised, while a blonde woman in distress wrestles desperately with a man below him, the whole scene framed with a dramatic film-strip border. The tension between the Punisher's cold composure above and the violent struggle unfolding at his feet makes for a genuinely gripping image. With Richard Rainey writing and interior art by Isaac M. del Rivero, "Raving Beauty" looks to be a sharp, street-level 1994 chapter in Frank's ongoing campaign.
