The Punisher emerges dripping from the water in full tactical diving gear — respirator, armored suit, and his unmistakable skull emblem front and center — wielding a submachine gun in one hand and a grenade in the other, with a wall of fire erupting behind him. It's a striking opening image for "Firefight," a three-part story crafted in 1993 by writers Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning with cover art by Hugh Haynes, inked by Mark McKenna and Mick Gray. If this cover is any indication, Frank Castle's next mission is going to be wet, loud, and very, very hot.
