The Power Company #5
In "Shadows Linger," the fifth issue of The Power Company (2002), Kurt Busiek teams with Tom Grummett—whose dynamic pencils are sharpened by Prentis Rollins and Christian Alamy’s inks and Alex Sinclair’s colors—to deliver a tense, character-driven chapter. Skyrocket takes down her past adversary Javelin, while Manhunter faces haunting echoes of his history with Christine St. Clair and sensei Asano Nitobe, leaving their confrontation unresolved. Meanwhile, Bork and Sapphire navigate a new chapter together in a gritty urban setting, and Josiah makes a pivotal move by securing Jenet Klyburn from S.T.A.R. Labs as a client. The Cadre’s shadowy schemes tighten around San Francisco, setting the stage for escalating stakes. The cover, penciled by Grummett and inked by Bair, captures the issue’s brooding atmosphere.
