The Peacemaker #3

This 1967 Charlton gem presents "Our Future World" with a cover by Pat Boyette that crackles with pulpy tension — the helmeted, shield-bearing Peacemaker stands his ground with pistol drawn against a menacing green alien creature brandishing a blade, while a blonde woman crouches at his side, weapon in hand, surrounded by strange flying creatures and shadowy jungle ruins. Boyette's bold linework gives the whole scene a wonderfully gritty, otherworldly atmosphere that feels right at home in the adventurous spirit of late-'60s comics. At twelve cents, this was an imaginative little package delivering science-fiction action with real character.
