The New 52: Futures End #15

Ryan Sook's cover for this October 2014 installment of DC's weekly New 52: Futures End series is a genuinely unsettling piece of work — a terrified woman's face dominates the foreground while a decayed, zombie-like figure looms from the left, a grasping green hand reaching toward her against a blood-red sky. Dark silhouetted figures lurk ominously in the background, reinforcing the sense of a world under siege. With writers Azzarello, Giffen, Jurgens, and Lemire collaborating alongside artists Eaton, Geraci, and Hi-Fi, this issue promises the same grim, propulsive storytelling that has made this series one of 2014's most ambitious DC events.
