Benedict Bogus inherits his late uncle's plantation, called "Bogus Acres" in Georgia. Low on money, he talks The Little Stooges into driving him 3000 miles to Georgia. Bogus Acres ends up being a creepy, run-down dump in the middle of the Okefinokee Swamp. Bogus tells the boys that he's unable to pay them, and they'll have to stay at Bogus Acres until he finds a buyer, so the boys disguise as spooks to scare him out. They are all unaware that a trio of gator poachers are occupying Bogus Acres who also want to chase them all out.
