The Little Stooges #2
In "Curly of the Apes," the titular Stooge wins a trip to Africa, leaving Moe and Larry behind while Bogus stays home—only to find himself drawn into the adventure when he blackmails his way onto the flight. Once in the jungle, Curly befriends a troop of monkeys and narrowly escapes a man-eating lion after a fang breaks on his camera, but his freedom is short-lived when he’s captured by ivory poachers. Moe and Larry, now in Africa thanks to Bogus’ cunning, are soon taken too—only to be saved by Curly’s unexpected animal allies. Written, drawn, and inked by Norman Maurer, this 1972 Western Comics adventure blends slapstick and safari peril with a charmingly offbeat twist, all captured in a cover by Norman Maurer.

Curly wins a trip to Africa, leaving Moe, Larry and Bogus behind in the US. While out on a photo safari, Curly wanders off and befriends a group of monkeys. On TV, he is reported as lost in the jungle, while two ivory poachers plot to get rich by killing a hundred elephants. Curly is stalked by One Fang, a man-eating lion, who becomes tame after breaking his fang on Curly's camera. Curly runs into the poachers, who kidnap him. Moe and Larry obtain tickets to Africa thanks to Bogus' blackmailing skills, and get captured too. They are all rescued from the poachers by Curly's animal friends.
