The atomic explosion did not destroy the meteor. Mankind prepares for the end. Meanwhile, instead of being obliterated in the explosion, George and Rosie have materialized inside the meteor which turns out to be an alien space craft. After George and Rosie are reunited with the rest of the Jetsons, they learn that the underwater creatures terraforming Earth are advance scouts for the alien space craft designed to rehabilitate Earth's environment and seed it with new life.
