The Invaders #6

This May 1976 issue of The Invaders delivers a full-team clash right on its Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnott cover, where Captain America (shield raised), the Sub-Mariner, the Human Torch, and their teammates collide head-on with a rival group that includes a red-helmeted Captain America counterpart, a female figure in patriotic red-and-blue, a golden-ringed flyer, and a ghostly white figure — all set against the Washington Monument. The banner says it all: "Enter — the Liberty Legion!", promising a wartime superhero showdown worthy of the story title "…And Let the Battle Begin!"
