The Herculoids #7
In "Enter The Overmind!", the ancient ark ship crash-lands on Amzot, awakening the Encephalon—a vast, fluid-bound mind carrying the collective wisdom of a fallen empire. As the Encephalon summons the Destroyer Ants to free the ship, they seize Dorno, transforming him into the Overmind, the living voice of the Ancients. Written by Tom Sniegoski and illustrated by Craig Rousseau, with colors by Omi Remalante Jr. and letters by Taylor Esposito, this 2025 Dynamite Entertainment issue features a striking cover by Francesco Mattina.

The Ancients, original inhabitants of the planet Amzot from which they launched a great galaxy-spanning empire, sent an ark ship back to their planet of origin to begin again after total defeat by a mysterious alien race. The Encephalon, a huge-headed entity suspended in fluid, and receptacle of the collected knowledge of the ancients, awakens within the crashed ark ship to resume his mission of preparing Amzot for the remaining ancients. Telepathically calling the Destroyer Ants to free the ship, the ants also take Dorno to become “The Overmind”, the voice and embodiment of the Ancients.
