In "Circus of Fear!", the Ghost Rider rides into Bison Bend when the Barton Brothers Circus is hit by a robbery, and the local sheriff pins the crime on the circus' cougar trainer, Adano Andriani. With the help of the Ghost Rider, Andriani is freed from jail to clear his name, but as the truth unfolds, the sheriff remains suspicious of the flaming rider’s motives. Written by Gary Friedrich and Dick Ayers, with art by Dick Ayers and inks by Vince Colletta, this 1967 issue features a cover by Dick Ayers and John Romita.

When the Barton Brothers Circus comes to Bison Bend the box office is robbed. Sheriff Brooks accuses the Circus' cougar trainer (Adano Andriani, the infamous Cougar) of the theft. The Ghost Rider frees him from jail to help find the real robber. The robber turns out to be Adano's brother-in-law, but Sheriff Brooks still believes that the Ghost Rider is up to no good.
