The Fury of Firestorm #57

This March 1987 issue puts Firestorm at the center of something deeply unsettling — the Nuclear Man screams in anguish as an enormous ghostly skull looms from his own flame-crowned head, while several other figures are scattered and tumbling helplessly around him in a streak-blurred maelstrom. Cover pencils by Joe Brozowski and inks by Rick Magyar give the image a raw, kinetic energy that makes Firestorm look genuinely overwhelmed for once. With Barbara Randall writing and José Delbo on interior art, "Due Monday" promises a story as turbulent as its striking cover suggests.
