The cover of this December 2014 New 52 issue delivers exactly what its tagline promises — the Flash charging hard from the left, crackling with orange lightning, on a collision course with a hulking blue energy-wreathed figure identified as Future Flash, the two converging in a burst of raw speed force across a rubble-strewn battlefield. Brett Booth and Norm Rapmund's cover art captures the kinetic tension of speedster-on-speedster combat beautifully, with smaller echoes of the same clash visible in the background as if time itself is stuttering. Written by Robert Venditti and Van Jensen with colors by Andrew Dalhouse, "Out of Time" looks like a thrilling reckoning between two versions of the same hero.
