The Flash #200
A milestone 200th issue worthy of the Scarlet Speedster, this September 1970 DC Comics landmark features a cover by Carmine Infantino and Murphy Anderson that puts the Flash dead-center in a chaotic Washington, D.C. scene — the U.S. Capitol dome looming behind him as he races forward clutching a gun, his expression wracked with anguish over the chilling word balloon: "My God..! I've just killed the most important man in America!" Armed soldiers, a screaming woman in yellow, and a young child scatter around him, making the cover feel genuinely urgent and morally charged. Robert Kanigher's story "Count 200 — and Die!" with art by Irv Novick promises that this anniversary issue is anything but a routine celebration.
