The Demon #2
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe cover of this November 1972 DC issue says it all — Etrigan the Demon, yellow-skinned and grinning with unsettling delight, crouches unseen atop a stone castle wall as oblivious armored guards below insist "no one is here." Jack Kirby's pencils and Mike Royer's inks give the scene a kinetic, otherworldly energy, the Demon's blue cloak billowing dramatically against the dark battlements while the guards, torches in hand, remain blissfully unaware of the supernatural predator looming just above them. Titled "Bath of Fire!" and promising that "in the den of witches lies the fate of man," this is early-Bronze-Age Kirby doing what he did best — building dread and wonder in a single image.
