The Darkness #18
The Darkness #18 brings the second chapter of "Hell House" to life with a cover by Dale Keown that drips with menace — Jackie Estacado stands armored in living darkness, his body encased in the Darkness entity's chitinous shell, surrounded by a swarm of glowing-eyed darkling creatures and a massive, looming winged beast. The composition pulses with sickly greens and deep shadows, making the host feel both commanding and beset on all sides. With David Lapham — wait, that's a Wizard quote on the cover — the creative team of writer Mark Waid and artist Marc Silvestri ensures this 2005 Top Cow/Image series is firing on all cylinders.
