It collects a selection of Nostrand's most memorable stories, showcasing his skill for eerie atmospheres and grotesque imagery from his time at publishers like Harvey Comics. A must for fans of vintage horror and classic comic art, this collection preserves the legacy of a lesser-known but highly influential artist.
In "The Man Germ," a 2014 IDW/Yoe Books horror tale written, drawn, and inked by Howard Nostrand, a desperate man stranded on a remote island must confront a terrifying, inescapable presence washed ashore—over and over. With no rescue in sight and a growing sense of dread, the line between survival and madness begins to blur. The story’s chilling atmosphere and relentless tension are brought to life through Nostrand’s stark, expressive artwork, with the cover by Howard Nostrand capturing the isolation and dread of the tale.
