“Heartline”

In "Heartline," brilliant surgeon Lawrence Romaine grapples with grief after the sudden death of his beloved Susanne, only to attempt a radical experiment—reviving her using a cadaver’s heart. What follows is a haunting exploration of love and identity, as Susanne awakens with a new heartbeat, drawn not to the man who mourns her, but to the body that now houses her new life. A chilling tale from Harvey’s *Chamber of Chills Magazine* #23, featuring evocative art by Manny Stallman and inks by John Giunta, with a striking cover by Warren Kremer and Lee Elias.

Lawrence Romaine, a brilliant surgeon who has found a way to save patients by replacing diseased organs with healthy fresh ones, falls in love with the beautiful Susanne. After Susanne dies of a heart attack, Lawrence attempts to bring her back to life with the heart of a cadaver. The revived Susanne now falls in love with the reanimated cadaver who's heart she now has as opposed to the grief stricken Lawrence proving that "The heart still loves its body".
