In "The Challenge of the Flying Horse," Jon and the Mute Bard face their next trial atop a storm-wracked mountain, where a flying horse erupts from the clouds to carry Jon to Valhalla, the hidden realm of the Valkyries. There, he must defend the warrior women from an ambush by the Moon Vikings, using only a wooden staff from home and the courage of a true hero—before the feather of the sea eagle is claimed.
In the Forest Perilous, the Silent Knight battles Sir Edwin’s men and emerges victorious. Back at Camelot, a young kitchen boy named Alvin dreams of knighthood, and when King Arthur challenges him to capture the Silent Knight, he sets off in makeshift armor. What follows is a mix of clumsy misadventures and unexpected heroism, as Alvin stumbles into danger, the Silent Knight is captured, and a sudden dragon attack forces a reckoning in the court. The fate of the Silent Knight—and the boy’s destiny—hangs in the balance.
