“Scars”

In "Scars," a 1978 DC classic, Batman delves into a mystery surrounding missing celebrities, uncovering a web of hidden connections tied to a group of misfits with unusual scars. Written by Gerry Conway and brought to life with moody, detailed art by Jim Aparo—both pencils and inks—and vibrant colors by Adrienne Roy, the story weaves together Dick Grayson’s visit to Gotham with Lori’s search for her ex, the Huntress’s quest for guidance from Earth-Two’s former Batwoman Kathy Kane, and a chilling link to an amusement park housing the very outcasts Batman once encountered. The cover, a striking portrait by Michael Wm. Kaluta, captures the story’s haunting tone.
