The Sub-Mariner joins the Avengers in their battle against the Lava Men. Taken to the realm of the Lava Men, the Avengers are told by Jinku, the Lava Men's witch doctor, the origins of the Lava Men and that the race has died out due the Avengers. Jinku wants to destroy the Avengers because the team killed the creator of the Lava Men, the demon Cha'Sa'Dra, who was among the demons that attacked Earth during the events of Inferno.
