Thanos #6
Jim Starlin and Al Milgrom deliver a genuinely unsettling cover for this 2004 installment of Marvel's Thanos series — a massive, glowing visage looms from the darkness, all gleaming eyes and a wide, menacing grin, while a small armored figure crouches below it, dwarfed by whatever presence towers above. With a story titled "Endgame," the cover's stark contrast between that tiny, defiant figure and the overwhelming entity above it sets a wonderfully tense mood. Starlin, the architect of so much of Thanos's cosmic mythology, is clearly in his element here.
