Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures #45

Part of the 1993 "Mutations" arc, this issue of Archie's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures sports a striking cover by Peter Laird (pencils) and Ryan Brown (inks) that immediately signals something has gone very wrong for the team. Donatello looms large in the foreground, bo staff raised and teeth bared in a fierce snarl, while what appear to be regressed, devolved turtle forms huddle beneath him — a deeply unsettling image that raises plenty of questions. A robed, sword-bearing figure watches ominously from the upper corner, adding one more layer of tension to an already charged scene.
