Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #16

All four Turtles burst forward from a dark, shadowy opening on Mark Martin's cover for this July 1988 Mirage issue — Raphael front and center with nunchaku at the ready, flanked by his brothers, each masked in red and coiled to strike. The composition has a real kinetic punch, the quartet framed as though tearing through the page itself. With a story titled "photo comic," issue #16 promises something a little different from Eastman and Laird's beloved series.
