Tarzan #218
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeBased on Edgar Rice Burroughs' immortal jungle lord, this March 1973 DC issue puts Tarzan in immediate, visceral danger — a massive black panther crouches above him, fangs bared and claws extended, while below, the Lord of the Jungle grapples hand-to-hand with a rifle-wielding hunter in what the story title "The Trophy" makes grimly clear is a struggle over who becomes the prize. Joe Kubert's cover art captures the layered tension beautifully, with the jungle itself feeling like a third combatant closing in from all sides. Denny O'Neil and Murphy Anderson bring their talents to the interior, making this a genuinely compelling entry in DC's 1973 run with the character.
