Beyond the Farthest Star: Chronicles #2
In "The Forest of Peril!", Tangor—crash-landed on a strange, alien world—faces a horned, four-footed beast in a desperate fight for survival. With help from a small, coconuts-throwing simian-like creature, he turns the tide of the chase and survives the encounter by sheer luck. Grateful, the creature leads him toward distant mountains to meet its larger kin. Written by Denny O'Neil and illustrated with bold, dynamic art by Murphy Anderson, with lettering by Ben Oda, this issue captures the raw tension and wonder of a lone traveler in an unforgiving new world. The cover, by Roy G. Krenkel, perfectly captures the moment’s peril and mystery.

After crash landing on another planet, Tangor is chased up a tree by a horned four-footed beast. A small, simian-like creature in the same tree tries to drive off the beast by throwing coconuts at it. The maddened beast reacts by charging and knocking down the tree and starts to chase the simian-like creature. To save the creature, Tangor attacks the beast and gets it to chase him, instead. Through good luck, he happens to kill the beast. In gratitude the simian-like creature leads him towards the mountains to meet his (much larger) relatives.
