Sweetheart Diary #34
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeA blonde young woman clutches her open diary — entries marked April 17 and April 18 visible on its pages — and peers through a curtained window, her expression caught somewhere between heartbreak and revelation as a couple embraces just outside. Her thought bubble confesses it all: "Dear Diary, I lied to you! It's Nan he loves!" This 1956 Charlton romance entry, with cover art by Dick Giordano and Jon D'Agostino, captures the quietly dramatic emotional world of mid-century romance comics with real tenderness and flair.

Pearl and Jeff are engaged, but he warns her “marriage is a long way off” because he wants to establish himself in business first. Pearl is left alone often and is disappointed when he gives her a diary as a gift. One day, Jeff says he read her diary and learns she’s been dating other men. But Pearl’s younger sister Judy admits she used the diary to record her romantic fantasies. Jeff says the diary made him realize he’s taken Pearl for granted, and vows to change.
