Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #13
In "The Six Jimmy Olsens," a clever twist on identity and heroism sees Jimmy Olsen unexpectedly become the focus of a mystery that unfolds when a well-meaning but misguided man named Labs discovers the secret behind Jimmy’s ability to summon Superman via his wristwatch. Written by Otto Binder and brought to life with Curt Swan’s crisp art and Ray Burnley’s sharp inks, this 1956 adventure blends suspense and heart, with Jimmy using the very device meant to call for help to send a Morse code warning—proving that even without Superman’s arrival, courage and quick thinking can make a difference. The cover by Curt Swan and Stan Kaye captures the moment’s tension with classic flair.

When trailing Jimmy Olsen as he collects charitable donations around the city, "Labs" Logan figures out that Jimmy summons Superman through his wristwatch. So when Jimmy isn't looking, Labs changes the signal's frequency so that Superman won't come to Jimmy's rescue. But when Labs changes the signal back the proper frequency to lure Superman into a kryptonite trap, Jimmy uses the signal to broadcast Morse code to warn Superman, who nabs the crook long-distance and helps Jimmy deliver the charity collection.
