While Jimmy takes Superman to Clark Kent's apartment to recuperate, Lex Luthor connects Superman's weakness with Gallo's casino. There, Gallo reveals to Lois his secret and she summons Jimmy. After visiting Smallville, Superman returns to meet with Gallo. Gallo tells Superman that he is actually an entity possessing Gallo who accompanied Superman on the trip from his home planet and can give him insight into his own origin if Superman will allow himself to be exposed to the kryptonite again. The moment that Superman is weakened by the kryptonite and unconscious, however, Luthor arrives.
