Superman: Birthright #4
Mark Waid's reimagining of Superman's origins continues with issue #4 of Birthright, titled "It's a Bird! It's a Plane!" The cover by Leinil Francis Yu and Gerry Alanguilan delivers a striking, vertigo-inducing image: a dark-haired woman in a pink dress tumbles through the air while a massive, gun-turreted mechanical vehicle is sent flying above her, debris scattering across a bright sky. It's a dynamic, almost elegantly composed snapshot of danger that makes you want to flip straight to the interior.
