Superman #43
The "Bizarroverse" arc takes a darkly twisted turn in this 2018 installment, as the cover — penciled and inked by Patrick Gleason — thrusts a snarling, deteriorating Bizarro front and center, bursting through the image with fist raised and teeth bared. Superman and a young figure in a Super-suit (unmistakably Jon Kent) are flung to either side, scattering debris around them, conveying a real sense of chaotic, overwhelming force. Written by Gleason and Peter J. Tomasi with colors by Stephen Downer, this chapter of "Black Mirrors" promises the kind of off-kilter, mirror-world menace that makes the Bizarroverse such a compelling place to visit.
