Superman #44
Part three of the "Bizarroverse" arc delivers one of 2018's most densely packed covers: Superman and Bizarro hurl themselves at each other at the center of the image, while two enormous mirror-image armies of Bizarro-fied DC heroes — distorted versions of Robin, Batman, Aquaman, and a sprawling cast of others — crash together beneath them in a chaotic wave. Patrick Gleason's cover art (inked by Gleason himself) turns the familiar DC roster wonderfully strange, giving every pale, off-kilter face its own twisted personality. Written by Gleason and Peter J. Tomasi with interior art by Doug Mahnke, this issue promises the kind of wild, anything-goes energy that only a trip to the Bizarroverse can deliver.
