Superman #38
In "The Men of Tomorrow, Chapter Seven: Friends and Enemies," Superman faces off against Ulysses, who seeks revenge on Earth for the destruction of The Great World, only to be stopped by a desperate act of solar-powered sacrifice. Written by Geoff Johns and illustrated by John Romita Jr. with inks by Klaus Janson and colors by Laura Martin, Ulises Arreola, Wil Quintana, and Dan Brown, this 2015 issue blends high-stakes confrontation with quiet moments of connection. On the cover, Romita Jr. and Janson capture the intensity of the moment, while Clark Kent’s personal journey unfolds in the aftermath—first with a tense visit to Ulysses in custody, then in a rare, heartfelt exchange with Jimmy at the Daily Planet.
