Superior Spider-Man #13
In "No Escape Part Three: The Slayers & the Slain," the Superior Spider-Man faces a twisted alliance of villains as the Lizard—under Curt Connors' control—unexpectedly intervenes to save Jameson from the Scorpion. With powers fading and the threat of capture looming, Spider-Man confronts Smythe, while the sentient Spider-Slayer armor makes one final, desperate bid for victory. Dan Slott and Christos Gage deliver a tense, high-stakes chapter, with Giuseppe Camuncoli's dynamic art and John Dell and Terry Pallot's sharp inks bringing the chaos to life. The cover, also by Camuncoli, captures the moment's intensity with a striking, foreboding composition.

Jameson is unexpectedly saved from the Scorpion's attack by the Lizard, whose mind is now controlled by Curt Connors. The villains learn that their enhanced powers were only temporary and they are recaptured. Spider-Man kills Smythe, but the Spider-Slayer armor remains sentient for one more failed attempt at triumph. In the aftermath, Otto uses a recording of Jameson ordering Smythe's execution by Spider-Man to blackmail the mayor into giving him The Raft as a new headquarters.
