“No Escape Part Two: Lockdown”

In "No Escape Part Two: Lockdown," Otto Octavius—now inhabiting Spider-Man's body—faces relentless pressure at The Raft, where a deadly confrontation with the Spider-Slayer is cut short by a furious J. Jonah Jameson, determined to end Smythe himself. With the Mayor’s reluctant approval to eliminate Smythe and new threats emerging in the form of Vulture, Scorpion, and Boomerang—enhanced and more dangerous than ever—Otto’s focus remains singular: bringing Smythe to justice, no matter the cost. Written by Dan Slott and Christos Gage, with striking art by Giuseppe Camuncoli and dynamic inks by John Dell and Terry Pallot, this issue pushes the stakes higher in a tense, high-octane showdown. The cover by Giuseppe Camuncoli captures the intensity of the moment, a 3.99 USD comic from 2013 that stands as a pivotal chapter in the Superior Spider-Man saga.

At The Raft, Spider-Man's battle with the Spider-Slayer is interrupted by Jameson, who's armed and ready to kill Smythe himself, but the distraction allows the villain to slip away. The Mayor then gives Otto his official permission to kill Smythe, since the scheduled execution didn't happen. Despite the arrival of Vulture, Scorpion, and Boomerang (with their enhanced powers), Otto's only focus is on taking down Smythe.
