In a time-traveling twist, Superboy races after three red kryptonite meteors and lands in ancient Egypt, where he aids his science teacher’s old friend, Joe Larkin, and helps the people of the Nile. With Krypto by his side, he confronts King Khafra and a mysterious magician, trying to stop the pharaoh’s cruel rule—only to be transformed into a lion-human hybrid by the strange meteor’s power.

In 1871 Missouri, Superboy teams up with Doc. Langdon’s traveling medicine show while hunting for red kryptonite, all while thwarting the notorious Jesse James and his gang. When the outlaws seize the kryptonite and turn Superboy into a doppelgänger of Jesse James, he uses the disguise to outwit them—until a posse gives chase, forcing him and Krypto to flee on a transformed horse until their powers return and they can return to their own time.
