When the outlaws seize the red kryptonite and craft bullets to force Superboy into aiding them, he’s transformed into a doppelgänger of Jesse James—using the disguise to turn the tables. But as a posse closes in, Superboy’s only ally is Krypto, who’s turned into a horse with the kryptonite’s power, enabling a daring escape until their abilities return and they can return to their own time.
