Sugar & Spike #67
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis 1966 DC gem from Sheldon Mayer delivers a perfectly timed Halloween treat, with Sugar and Spike dressed in their trick-or-treat costumes — she as a pointy-hatted witch and he as a little goblin — getting the fright of their lives when a very real (and very enthusiastic) witch flings open a front door to greet them, broom in hand. Sugar's speech bubble insists she's "calm, cool, and collected" while her flying ponytail tells a completely different story, capturing that wonderful mix of bravado and barely-contained panic that makes these two so endearing. Billed as a "Big Halloween Issue" with a book-length tale of "midnight madness, magic and merry-making," this is Mayer at his most playful — warm, funny, and absolutely perfect for the season.
