With his body still failing and the Masters of Silence closing in, Stark fights back by remotely piloting his Iron Man armor—then pushes further, crafting a new suit to face the threat head-on. Written by Len Kaminski and illustrated by Kevin Hopgood, with inks by Bob Wiacek and colors by Mike Rockwitz, this 1993 issue features a striking cover by Jae Lee.

When a nuclear reactor melts down in Japan, the company sends a trio of assassins to take vengeance on the maker of the faulty parts that caused the meltdown, Tony Stark. Tony is still close to death and battles the Masters of Silence by remotely controlling his Iron Man armor. Feeling that this is not going to be effective, Tony creates a new suit of armor to battle his foes.
