Kevin Hopgood was born on 25 August 1961 in the United Kingdom. He entered the comics industry in 1984, building a career as a British artist primarily known for his work on science fiction and fantasy titles. His most prominent association is with Marvel's *Iron Man*, where he contributed as an artist, inker, and colorist across multiple series, including the *Iron Man Epic Collection* reprint volumes. He also worked on *Strange*, *Spider-Man and Zoids*, and *Doctor Who Magazine*, demonstrating a versatility that spanned superheroes, licensed properties, and British comics. Hopgood's style is clean and dynamic, suited to both high-tech armor and alien landscapes. He collaborated with writers such as Bob Layton and David Michelinie on *Iron Man*, helping to define the visual look of the character during the late 1980s and early 1990s. He is credited as a co-creator of the War Machine armor, which debuted in *Iron Man* #282. Later in his career, he worked on the digital series *Night Zero*. Hopgood remained active in the industry through 2025, with a career spanning over four decades. He has not received major industry awards, but his contributions to *Iron Man* and the creation of War Machine have left a lasting mark on Marvel lore.
