Han Solo, Chewbacca och prinsessan Leia tillfångatas av Röde Jack, en rymdpirat som tagit över en av imperiets stjärnkryssare. De lurar honom att föra dem till Drexel-systemet, där Luke Skywalker försvunnit. Luke och droiderna har störtat på systemets enda vattentäckta planet, där de hamnar mitt i kriget mellan Draklorderna och guvernör Quarg. Quarg och hans män stör ut rymdskeppens maskineri, får dem att störta och plundrar dem sedan på värdefull metall. Han fångar Röde Jacks skepp, men de kämpar emot. Rebellhjältarna tar sig levande ur striden medan Quarg och Röde Jack dör.
