Starman #39
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeKicking off a four-part saga, Starman #39 (February 1998) plunges readers into "Lightning and Stars" with a cover steeped in wartime tension — two red-costumed heroes, one bearing a golden star emblem and wielding a glowing cosmic rod, stand defiantly before a looming Nazi flag, while a sharp-jawed man dominates the upper right and uniformed figures lurk in the shadows at left. The guest appearance of the Power of Shazam promises an ambitious team-up set against a World War II backdrop, and Tony Harris's painted cover work gives the whole scene a moody, almost cinematic weight. Robinson, Harris, and von Grawbadger were firing on all cylinders during this run, and this opening chapter looks like a compelling place to dive in.
