DC's sword-and-sorcery heroine Starfire takes center stage on this May 1977 cover, rendered by Mike Vosburg and Vince Colletta — her blade raised high in green-scaled costume as a massive, snarling purple monster seizes her in its grip, with a second tentacled pink beast lurking menacingly behind. The cover copy dares readers to enter a lost land that "screams the warning — Here There Be Monsters!" and the image delivers on that promise with real visual punch. With Elliot Maggin scripting and Vosburg on interior art as well, this issue looks like a satisfying dose of sword-wielding adventure from one of DC's more distinctive 1970s series.
