Part two of John Ostrander and Jan Duursema's "Darkness" arc arrives with a striking cover by Jon Foster — a pale, horned alien figure strides forward gripping a red lightsaber, surrounded by swirling shadowy forms that press in from every side. The cool blue palette and those looming, ghostly shapes give the image a genuinely unsettling atmosphere that lives up to the arc's title. Dark Horse's Star Wars monthly was delivering some bold visual storytelling in 2001, and this cover makes a compelling case for it.
